Inquisitive People: The Bronze Twins

If it were Wednesday which it is not, unless you are in Australia, then this would be an Inquisitive Wednesday post. But it is not Wednesday. And this time, the questions are not about me.

They are about two of my characters from LASER. Which means…

It’s time for Beautiful People, a monthly link-up hosted by Paper Fury and Further Up and Further In! PAPERFURY This month focuses on siblings. I give you…

The MC of LASER, Isabella, and her brother, Stephen.

Isabella and Stephen
Second row, played by Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley. Divergent and TFIOS came out at the perfect time for this casting. By the way, Stephen is supposed to have glasses.

Onto the questions!

1. What is the first memory they have of each other?

This is a tricky one. Since Isabella and Stephen are twins, they’ve known each other since before they were born. So there’s not really a specific memory. The other was just always there.

2. Describe their relationship in 3 words.

Loyal. Close. Teasing.

3. What kind of things do they like to do together?

Hmm… eat. They do a lot of eating together in LASERI don’t know. I’m thinking… You don’t see them often with just the two of them. They tend to hang out with their other friends. They are also both LASER apprentices. Board games and card games. Maybe even video games. Isabella has the tendency to win. There was a line in one of the first attempts of writing LASER that went “Stephen was the older twin. That was the last time Isabella let him be first for anything.”

4. What was their biggest fight?

This actually happens in LASER. Isabella does something pretty stupid and dangerous and Stephen is upset with her for it for a long time.

5. How far would they go to save each other?

They’d probably both give their lives, but Isabella would do it more recklessly and eagerly.

6. What are their pet peeves about each other?

Isabella is impulsive and stubborn. Stephen doesn’t seem to try hard enough.

7. What are their favorite things about each other?

Isabella’s favorite thing about Stephen is that he always is ready to stand up for her; that he wants to protect her. Stephen’s favorite thing about Isabella… he’s proud of her. Even though she is stubborn and impulsive, she’s passionate and she works hard. They know that if they need anything, the other will help, no matter what. Which is almost, but not quite, true, as we find out in the story.

8. What traits do they share? Mannerisms, clothing, quirks, looks, etc?

They share a lot of the same looks (they both have red hair and green eyes) and they are both left-handed. They both have Half-Sight, which means they can see normally invisible fairy creatures, but only through one eye. They call each other “Thing 1” and “Thing 2”.

9. Who has the strongest personality?

Isabella, no contest.

10. How does their relationship change throughout your story?

They grow a bit distanced, I think. That big fight mentioned above contributes to that. But also, Stephen finds love and Isabella is trying very hard not to do the same. They’re still friends in the end, but I don’t think they are quite as close. And… that’s it. Now you know Stephen and Isabella!

  1. AWWWWW that picture at the end is sweet.

Also, I must add, that line about the last time Iz let him be first is awesome. Except, you know, probably infodumpy. BUT IF YOU CAN USE IT SOMEWHERE, DO IT!

I also must’ve missed the fact that they were both lefties… I think I remember Iz being a lefty, but not Steven. Huh.

  2. That line about that being the last time she let him be the first, is awesome. I always like twins for some reason I find them fascinating. I live how they don’t have a first memory, they were both just there. I am like Isabella trying to avoid love 🙂

  3. They call each other “Thing 1″ and “Thing 2″. <— I LOVE THEM. Also the fact that Isabella is so sparky and epic, I love that too. So basically THIS IS VERY AWESOME AND I SHALL JUST SIT HERE, ADMIRING YOUR AWESOME. *nods*

  4. Ohh, I love them! First of all, I’ve always been fascinated by twins, and these two seem to have a good friendship type relationship. And I love that line everyone else is mentioning too! Just… wow, you’re awesome, and I wish I could read this book!

Ooh! Are you going to leave a comment? I love comments! And I like replying to them, too!
